The Core Values Show represents our school's dedication to ensuring learning at CIS is an engaging and meaningful experience for all students.
A few years back I was part of a small group of CIS faculty that challenged ourselves to re-envision how traditional assemblies could become something more memorable and impactful for students. Through collaboration and hard work we ended up developing a talk show format that allowed us to bring in special guests from off campus, integrate innovative videos and involve the audience (students) with interactive games to teach and reinforce the significance our school’s Core Values; Joy, Integrity, Respect, Caring and Inspiration.
This format has withstood the test of time and this Wednesday, we kicked off the 3rd season (a.k.a. 3rd school year) of the show with a the Joy Show. We have 5 shows a year, one for every core value. Each show we celebrate student role models who have been nominated by their peers for consistently demonstrating the value.

Our special guest was Miku Fedor a professional soccer player from Bengaluru F.C. who talked about the joy of doing what you love for a career.

Another tradition of the Joy show is that we present the world premiere of our original Joy Music Video. This year it’s a wacky spoof on a Disney Channel "I Can't Stop Singing" video called "I Can't Stop the Joy". It brought joy to all our students faces. Check out our video below!
Last year (2017) we recreated Despacito with our own lyrics "Joyacito".
Our first season (2016) the joy video "CIS Takes the World by Storm" was created from a compilation of parent submissions where families lip synced to Lukas Graham's song.
For Mr. Ben, Mr. Nicolas and I, we have a deeper more holistic goal we try to accomplish in expressing ourselves using the medium of video. Firstly, we love video and video editing so we hope to inspire others to see the fun ways they can be creative using technology. And of course we want to always model for our students that you can always learn something new... like the cool synchronised dance moves of Brady and Mack that we perfected!
